RE: Best trailer tires

I'm thinking the best tire is the one that is one load range higher than what the manufacture put on the trailer to start with.

RE: 3 day weekend

I remember one old boy laughed at me when I said I had to go to work and he said what is work. I looked at him and said when I retire where would you be, his mouth dropped and relizied where he would be ( pushing up daisies ). We all get our turn don't rub it in.

RE: Awning weight limit (guys only)

No they are designed to support the awning only and a few lights. You might get away with a small chilled but in time it would break. Nice idea but it just would not hold up. ( hows that Moderator ) Oh what the heck go ahead and do it, it will give your wife another reason to say, I TOLD YOU SO.

RE: Portland, OR to Bend, OR

Thanks all, I am located at Portland Fairview RV Park, right off 84. We were here last July and made res. for this year before I left. I really do not understand all these folks who have told me the weather up here is always lousy. It's 90 deg. outside just like last year. Shhhhhhh.......that's a secret we don't let out too far from the NW. Hee hee. Well I hope you enjoyed Oregon's famous liquid sunshine we got today along with a little lightening show Albert

RE: Portland, OR to Bend, OR

The fastest way to Bend from your location is via US 26. Just be watchful between Sandy and Zigzag....this is a notoriously busy and dangerous road because of the sheer volume of side roads and driveways that are strung out along the highway.

RE: Portland, OR to Bend, OR

I would hit 26 and follow it to Madras and then take 97 down to Bend. I always go up hwy 35 from Hood River and catch 26 to 97. I would think going up 84 to 197 or 97 would be a lot longer. Albert

RE: Yamaha 2400 ...interesting update

My son's did something like that, it was running his AC ok then the next day it would not run it. I was at my son's house a month ago and he used his Yamaha 2400 to run a cut off saw, it worked for two days just fine then when I was there it started acting up and would not run the saw. He took it in to the Yamaha shop and the electronic board was bad. Keep trying it off and on and if it starts acting up again take it in to a shop to get it fixed.

RE: Hail Damage...

They wanted to total my old trailer after hail damage but I just told them I just wanted the awning replaced and they did that in a heart beat. I would have another RV place or insurance adjuster look at it, if they say 6,000 bucks to fix it or what ever, I would tell them to give me that or take it back. If they want to fix it I would demand a new one because it may take a long time to repair it and you may miss the camping season. as for the first question, it's not your fault.

RE: June on Mt. Rainier......2 feet of snow strands hikers..

It's sad when it happens, we lost three climbers here about three years ago. One was found in a snow cave and the other two were never found. I'm sorry but I feel that anyone going up on a snow covered mountain should be Forced to carry a locator or not allowed to climb. These mountains are on U.S. forest service land but it's the locale county's that usually foots the bill for the search and rescue.

RE: How old is Grandpa???

Yea I would think that 59 year old lived a bit of a sheltered life, but then again I'm 54 and the first 4 years of my life water for drinking and baths came from across the road in the creak behind granddads house and our outhouse was about 30 yards from our house down the hill.

RE: GMC/Chevy - Use of Tow-Haul or "Manual" with new Ally

In tow-Haul it will stay in a lower gear longer and You will not see six gear until about 55 or 60, I'm thinking 6th will kick in about 60 mph. If you are in tow-haul and doing about 50-55 kick it out of tow-haul and watch the RPM's drop as it goes into 6th. Albert

RE: marina park, boardman, oregon on Colubmia River

Try the Boardman Chamber of Commerce, I think that park is owned by the city of Boarman.
